Role Description

Talion is looking for an individual to take responsibility for the support and development of our Servicenow ITSM/CSM platform, ensuring best practice and minimal customisation is applied and built into our customer facing systems.

We are looking for an individual who wants that next challenge in their career. You must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from board director to junior analyst, use influencing skills, and a range of styles to ensure they feel empowered to voice opinions which positively influence the operational delivery of this critical component.

You will work within our Operations team and align closely with groups of customer and business stakeholders to meet the evolving demands of the client, the technology, and the customer.

This role will be based either in our Security Operations Centre located in Holbeck, Leeds or in our Engineering delivery centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to understand product strategy to exploit current and future capabilities to meet the demands of business processes.
  • Creating and maintaining high quality technical and training literature pertaining to the support and use of the toolset.
  • Work with colleagues to disseminate knowledge regarding use and support of the toolset, exploiting ‘shift left’ opportunities wherever reasonable.
  • Working for the Product Management function to develop and implement company-wide go-to-market plans, working with all departments to execute.
  • Contribute to Product Strategy colleagues, influencing the success and roadmap of the product
  • Analysing potential partner relationships for products.
  • Ownership of Product performance.
  • Supporting the training and development plans of junior engineers with an interest in building on their ServiceNow development capability.
  • Responsible for technical design of ServiceNow code and architecture, responsible for overall ServiceNow code quality.
  • Design, prototype, implement, test, and deploy business rules, technical solutions, such as client scripts, UI pages/actions/policies, scheduled job, import sets and transform maps, ACLs and notifications.
  • Develop existing and custom applications within ServiceNow including integrations with other applications.
  • Create and use update sets to move customizations between ServiceNow instances.
  • Document, maintain and update policies, procedures and controls for the operation of the ServiceNow platform and its SDLC.
  • Responsible for reviewing requirements to ensure that they are provided in sufficient detail to be accurately estimated.
  • Work with process managers to fully understand business functionality, pain points, and areas of improvements.
  • Commit to the continuous improvement and learning of development and ServiceNow best practices, tools and technology.
  • Proactively keep ServiceNow skills current including all ServiceNow Delta exams.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience of ServiceNow development
  • Experience with development and implementation of ServiceNow ITSM/CSM modules
  • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification required.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer Certification preferred.
  • System integration experience using web services and other web based technologies such as XML,HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, REST/SOAP
  • Wider ServiceNow platform knowledge and experience an advantage, i.e. Service Portal/Mobile App.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in an organisation with regulatory governance and controls an advantage.
  • Nice to have: experience of leading a team of developers or supporting training and development within an agile delivery model.
